The majority of 3rd party apps have so far been community-created. Unfortunately, as useful as most are, many of the apps lack the polish to make them what the average consumer would consider mainstream.

Anyway, the questionnaire focused on usage and expectations, and from the responses, the tablet program can determine where focus is best placed. That may or may not include enhanced efforts in cultivating mainstream 3rd party apps and clients (Skype, Rhapsody, etc).

The survey is not interested in my opinions about what applications are coolest, etc, because I only have an N800. Since the N810 is basically so similar to the N800, especially with OS2008, this seems unfair and guarantees that the survey won't represent general tablet opinion. Hopefully, N810 users have the same general opinions as N800 users, but without including both segments in the survey, there is no way to know.

Thanks for the info. Though I definitely mean something more user friendly and more of a direct connection via USB. For example my work setup puts me in separate domains between wired and wireless network access and one cannot see the other.

It does work though... refresh rate needs to improve but most of what I am looking at is relatively static so a slow update isn't an issue.

You know, I have seen those really cool USB monitors or whatnot, and I always say "How in the world do they do that?" If the monitor is actually plugged into a USB port on the computer, that would mean that the computer is actually emulating a graphics card in software, and pushing the output through USB connectors. This is the same as those USB->VGA converter things, but cooler. I believe this is what you are asking for, and its possible, though Nokia would have to do a lot of things for it to work.

But then they go even further and daisy chain monitors through USB hubs. So, over one USB port, they are running 6 displays, and Im just sitting there going "so, how long till you have quake 3 running on it?"

sadly, this will never happen, because there are not that many people who would really NEED this, and Nokia would never waste all that money turning the NITs into mini monitors, etc etc. TV-Out seems a lot more likely than TV-In...
