Be careful what you say, (flame)wars start by bashing vi

Vi is well loved for it's power by those that have taken the time to master it. Nano has very limited function, it's few commands displayed at the bottom of the screen, making it more approachable by those not familiar with a text editor or the command line environment. I recommend nano when giving help to noobies editing configuration files or creating short shell scripts. In these cases my focus is on keeping things simple to insure their success. IMHO I wouldn't call nano better but in some instances more appropriate to the task and ability of the user.

I still recommend mc. It's a good filemanager and has an easy to use editor with syntax highlighting. No problems for newbies ....

I do have emelFM2 loaded, however, when I go to delete the file I get the following:

"Cannot delete /etc/bluetooth/audio.service.save - Permission denied"

All the files not in /home/user are owned by root, the system. If you've installed "sudser" you'll be able to delete them in the terminal as "sudo rm {filename}".

Hello everybody,

I followed the directions to modify the audio.service using rootsh (for root privileges) and vi (as editor).

Now my headset (NOKIA BH-208) actually connects, and the bluetooth icon on my N810W turns blue and stays blue. However, still no sound comes out of it when using skype or any media player

Did anybody else have any further issue, as I do, even after changing "false" to "true" in the conf file?

Hmm, after I added the audio-service file everything connected as it should and sound worked (both ways). I think I found a few forum threads that dealt with this situation when I was looking for help with the problem. I don't know if this helps or not, but trying searching for A2DP problems.

Simple little things that I all always tend to forget to try:

• Did you try restarting the n810?
• Turn the headset on and off?
• Clear the memory of the bluetooth headset?
• Clear all the other bluetooth devices from the n810?
• Is the headset working with any other device?

  I'm not sure how to do this, but the manual says that I should charge it if it crashes to "restore" it ... so I'm guessing I did!

At this point I'm wondering ... should I install the A2DP stuff those other forums talk about? and then try "enable" and "toggle"? I'm not expert on all this, so I'm not even sure what A2DP is. All I know is that my headset is a HSP device... and it's in the list of "compatible accessories" in the NOKIA N810 official page
