Hey dick, Let me say again that I'm a total newbie when it comes to linux and a lot of this stuff, learning as I go.
I installed OpenSSH some time ago I vaguely remember reading that it helped with security? or with network communication? I may be way off, but would you explaing what OpenSSH and OpenNtPD are? I may WANT them and don't know it yet!
Thanks

***EDIT***
from openssh.com
OpenSSH is a FREE version of the SSH connectivity tools that technical users of the Internet rely on. Users of telnet, rlogin, and ftp may not realize that their password is transmitted across the Internet unencrypted, but it is. OpenSSH encrypts all traffic (including passwords) to effectively eliminate eavesdropping, connection hijacking, and other attacks. Additionally, OpenSSH provides secure tunneling capabilities and several authentication methods, and supports all SSH protocol versions.

So I guess it encrypts any information sent through? like if I'm on my tablet logging onto my bank account? the password I use would have previously not been encrypted? People could see it? and with Open SSH it is now protected?

Thanks

@Capt'n Corrupt:
I have put Kingston Technology MBLY/8GB 8GB Class 4 Mobility Multi Kit (Black) which has 8 GB microSD with miniSD and SDHC adapter in my wish list at Amazon. You know of any issues encountered with Kingston?

Wow the apps list is getting impressive! I think this list would help out guys who are new to Nokia internet tablet scene. Thanks all!

HAHA That's exactly how I felt.

When I installed it from the app manager I thought to myself: Oh a TI emulator... well let's see if this thing does at least some of the stuff that my TI-85 used to do...
Much to my surprise I downloaded a WHOLE TI-85 identical to my old one!
The best thing is that wherever you leave off "2nd(fucntion) ON" the program that's where it starts back up when you start again. You can write programs for it and it saves/remembers everything very cool!!

I'm not sure about kingston, but it's recommended by at least one of this boards members. You can read about the recommendation here. If you do get this card, and you find that it works for you, let us all know!

@dantonic

I am simply in love with AlmostTI! I remember passing over it on the maemo download site, thinking that I wouldn't like it, but after being disappointed by some other calculators, and your hearty recommend, I decided to try it out. I'm glad I did.

This is a killer app, and one that more maemo apps should aspire to be like for a number of reasons:
1) It's FAST -- It loads in a flash, and closes even faster
2) It saves your state -- as you mentioned, no fumbling with menus, just close and go, and then start back up where you left off. This is precicely what makes panucci the ebook reader so useful, and palm apps (including pre) so functional.
3) It's small -- light is better than bloated

I also love Xournal! This is the surprising killer app, and one of my favourite on the tablet.

I can actually write on this about the same rate as I do on paper. The fact that I can choose the paper type, colour, size, and create multiple pages easily is amazing. I actually find myself jotting notes using xournal in a pinch. I may even hand write a letter to my gf in some kinda nerdy romantic gesture. But seriously, I hope it gets me laid....

The only way xournal would be better if it saved the state of the note upon closing.

Honestly, the tablet has become the centre of so many of my tasks, it's on me all moments of the day. I use it for a phone, a music player, an email reader/notifier, an ebook reader, a note taker, a calculator , a pim, a timer, and a GPS. When I get into writing convenient scripts, automating tasks, etc, I can see myself using it for even more tasks.

"I've modified my iPod in such extend that MobileSafari is very slick. It has an adblocker, and optionably plays Flash, for example. I really miss BlueTooth on it though. Its such a pity. Otherwise I could hook up a wireless keyboard (HID), stereo headphones (A2DP), use external GPS [mouse/phone], or use tethering. Now I use JoikuSpot on my phone."

The next update 3.0 should bring A2DP to the iPhone (not sure for the iTouch). It also might be only for the second generation ones too. Hidd support has been hacked for it (again requires jailbreaking).

Haha.. Oh god, it's getting bad... Give credit to the tablet? If anything, my gf has some new competition...

Panucci is an audiobook player, so if you have audiobooks in MP3 format, it's handy. It's a very simple app, but handy in that it remembers exactly where you left off, so the next time you open, you can just start from that spot again! You can use the mediaplayer to play MP3 audiobooks, and it'll remember the file you're on, but for LONG files (> 1 hour), the resume feature in panucci is almost necessary.

There's one thing that mediaplayer has over panucci, though. When the phone rings in mediaplayer, it'll stop the song so that you can talk. Panucci has no such feature, but it's still pretty great!

Oh, by the way, have you tried tiemu2? It seems to emulate newer TI graphing calculators (Ti-89, 92 and V200). I haven't been able to install it, but would like to check it out! Let me know if you have tried it.

vj.rao, the kingston card and adapter mentioned by you have worked fine for me for the last 3 mos.; however i don't know why some folders take up to15 or 20 seconds and several taps to open.

Haven't tried Tiemu2, I'll check it out sometime.

I installed panucci and it's nice I guess it works well for long podcasts too. The only thing I wish it could do is allow you to add whole folders instead of just single files one by one.
Means I have to add my podcasts one by one to the library...

Hey What kind of "Phone" setup do you have with your tablet? what do you use and how? (Just curious)
