Internet call app, using Gizmo SIP account as you suggested.

I just had to check my sipphone accounts are working... They are. (I called from my N810 to my home phone hooked to a SIP ATA device. Voice worked both ways just fine.)

I use the SIP client and have set it up like this:
- Username: You gizmo name or sipphone number @ proxy01.sipphone.com
- Password: Your sipphone password.

Advanced:
- Connection
Transport: Auto
Port: 5070 (default 5060 should work too...)
Discover public address checked
Keep alive: Auto
- Authentication:
Both username and password blank
- STUN:
Auto-detect STUN not checked
STUN server: stun01.sipphone.com
STUN port: 3478

That's it... I do not have any specific port forwardings set up on my Linksys WiFi router.

Sounds like a STUN problem...

Yeah, except I have my setup just like yours except for port 5070 vs 5060.

That crazy part is how Gizmo SIP and Googletalk+gtalk2voip behave exactly the opposite on the same network. I'm convinced it's my router though.

O.K. I am trying to find an answer. Like I said earlier there are times you can't get audio to work on both ends of the call, but the audio should work when you make a call using internet app and Gizmo, I am puzzled.

I guess if you setup your local network to use all fixed IP addresses you can set up the port forwarding properly. With DHCP this isn't going to work.

You may try just resetting the router to clear its routing table. Next time you log in with your N810, it should create a new routing table and voices should go through both ways... If it helps, then you know it is the router...

Occassionally I have to do that as well wiht my router: My Hardware SIP adapters just sometimes can not register, and only way to fix it is to recycle power on my router.

Texrat, go to MacDonalds and test it there (that will take your router out of the equation) or a spot where they have open wifi or Boingo if you have an account with them.

Well, you seem to be missing some info. Usually port forwarding contains 4 elements; source address, port, destination address, and destination port. Port and destination port are usually the same but don't have to be.

What I posted previously was cut and pasted directly from my router config page. I've noticed that there's a lot of variation in how each router presents the fields, which just adds to my confusion (I understand the principles but not the details). So, yeah, I'm sure I'm doing it wrong... but I have no idea what's right.
