i got the click too 2 days ago after leaving it exposed to the sun for 10 mins to get gps lock. at the time i was pretty frustrated about it happening when it didn't b4. but after leaving my phone in door for a day droping back down to room temperature, the click went away.

wow the paper trick does work, so much dirt under the edges. No more clicking now.

I just tried the above tip (used the corner of a glossy magazine cover) and it worked beautifully (at least for now). Note- the gap can be really tight and the paper barely even went into it, but definitely cleaned up a bunch of grease and crud that was probably causing the display to stick or whatever it was doing.

A few days ago the clicking sound at the middle-middle to middle-top of the screen started, goes away after like an hour of sitting but then after a couple of taps on the top it comes back eventually to "full volume".

NOOOO!!!!! WHY??
Is the mechanism covered by the warrenty? Please tell me it is, but don't lie to me. Mines does not click when the slider is open btw.

After 6 months of perfection my N900 now makes this "crunch" when I press in the top-right corner of the screen.

i never had 6 months of perfection. but after dropping it on the corner the top and the bottom metal around pulls away from the screen. Not sure I would call it a screen issue if it still works.

I just got the clicking too, right on the n900 text where the close button is.

I was thinking oh noooo, I've broked it!!!

Here's a solution to those without a magazine handy...spit on your screen then wipe it in firmly with a soft cloth (I used my t-shirt), slightly squeezing the screen, I got a very loud click and then no more clicks at all...brilliant.

Maybe it's just me but when using a screen protector do you find you get an accumulation of gunk around the edge of the protector/screen?

Maybe this is whats causing it, or at least a contributing factor.

just my 2p
