As mentioned above, the data files can be found at http://camanis.net/tyrian/tyrian21.zip; download, extract, and place the resulting "tyrian21" directory in "/home/user/.opentyrian/".

I would like to suggest adding a script to the package that will download the zip and unzip it in the right place to help out 'n00bs' to get the game running.
Had to help a friend out with this instead of just having a script to run.
