ForzaHudd said he'd tried over cell data without success.

I just tried to alter the details to try to duplicate the problem and I'm not sure you can from the app manager. Those three seem to be un-editable. (Unlike devel and testing which I can muck about with!)

Did you know Meego.com has forums too?

Quite right.

I'm in the US, the addresses seem to be what they're meant to be. I'll keep trying with regular cell access and wifi today and see what i get.

Hopefully, Nokia will get back to me at some point also.

Thanks for trying to help in my hour of need.

Sorry guys, I'm from Ireland. So I got my nokia from UK/europe.

Does this make any difference to my problem?

Worth a try without wifi. Seemed like a DNS resolution thing to me and wifi is often guilty of muckin' that up.

Didn't know that, never tried changing 'em - but then, why would I? Anyway, good idea to make them impossible to foul up.

If the repository entries are correct and it's not wifi, I'm fast running out of ideas...

I've had an n900 for a little over a month and wifi has mostly been working just fine. From time to time an idle ssh session will freeze, but an outgoing ping from the n900 gets it going again.

The only repository problem that I'vr had was when there was a bad package in testing.

lol! I'm at a loss over what to do regarding it. I'm not techy when it comes to PINGING etc and using the xterminal, so i'm really left with a problem. Other than that the phone is functioning 100%. A few bugs here and there that a firmware will take care of i hope.

Speaking of which, would a firmware update iron out this problem for anyone who's in the same predicament as us?

It might! What firmware are you running?

(Settings>about product>Version)
It should say 1.2009.42-11.and them some numbers. The UK edition is 1.2009.42-11.203.2

Then go to the catalogues:
Click the Nokia system software updates and check the web address.

UK is https://downloads. maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/203

It seems to be that you can't actually edit the preinstalled one. But presumably you could create a duplicate one from that information? Could be worth a try.

Then software updates 002 are the ones you should be connecting to.

Can you try creating a new catalogue entry with the details provided? and just disable the non-functioning one?
