I would like to:

1.
be able to set vibration OFF upon receiving email or IM but still have vibration on phone calls or SMS.

2.
be able to set timezome from worldclocks.

3.
have virtual keyboard when browsing phonebook in portrait mode

1: ability to enable vibration for different events (SMS, Email, phone)
2: portrait mode in email
3: “back” button in portrait mode web browser.

My list would be:

1. Full portrait mode with choice of screen input methods ala Symbian touch (I want T9 since THAT I can use while walking with one hand).

2. SyncML over IP

3. Better integration of sms/chat/email. I want to be able to forward an sms to chat, a chat message to sms or email etc.

4. Rolling upgrades ala Debian. The current approach with a huge meta package that depends on every other package being the exact same version is plain silly.

I forgot to mention this - I paid £10 for Skype credit a couple of weeks ago solely so I could send SMS messages abroad, cheap. And then found out it isn't possible.

how much do you pay for sending an sms throug skype?
i did find it expensive but i havent compared it recently

But do you want to cheaply send sms? Use a betamax provider one of these:

http://backsla.sh/betamax

like voipbuster: http://www.voipbuster.com/en/sms-rates.html

then download the app WebTexter and fill in your credentials an the right sms url:

https://www.voipbuster.com/myaccount/sendsms.php

This will enable you to send sms with that program and it already has some integration into conversations because when you send an sms to a person it will add that sms to the conversations log of that person. (so when you get a reply you will see your sms that you send) Works pretty great.

I mainly want to use the sms service abroad, is it possible to use skype in combination with webtexter? otherwise I'll register with 12voip, as they seem to be cheapest. does the service work work 12voip?

lets move this part of the conversation to: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=39659
