@evad

I'm also using goosync to sync with google calendar. I find that events with reminders on them don't get synced correctly:
-Create event on n900, reminder for 15 minutes : shows up on google calendar
- Create event on google, reminder 15 minutes: shows up on N900, but no reminder.

Is the behaviour any different on your N900 ?

(Also: just received the phone.. how can I check which version is installed ?)

Update: looks like the contents of the google calendar are copied to the phone, and override what's on the phone, i.e. a deleted item on phone is overwritten by the old item in the calendar

What is the source for the "rumor"?
I'm talking about the N900 removing all your IM contacts from the respective IM server (jabber.ccc.de, gtalk, skype, msn,...), not from the syncml-server.

and this, unfortunately, is not the expected behaviour and a serious UI bug.

Then you'll never experience this bug ... I use refresh-from-client, too, but i keep all my contacts on my desktop PC. all my mobile devices get their data overwritten with each sync run. I didn't dare to do this with the N900, though, because of this bug.

I have just created an event in GC with 15 minute reminder (pop-up) which synced to device correctly, I mean with 15 minute alarm set.

Try setting different reminder types in GC (pop-up, email, sms) and see if that makes a difference.

Has anyone got issues when using an SSL connection for syncing?

In the logs it shows:

Code:

It works just fine from the Outlook/Thunderbird Funambol client and visiting the link in the N900 browser shows:
Invalid Request - The MDaemon SyncML server does not support requests from web browsers. Only SyncML 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 clients are supported.
So all should be well

@floweih I don't remember, I installed it with downloading the package and installe it with dpkg -i. It then said something about missing package, and I did an apt-get install on that package.

I have now sett up my n900 to sync with my funabol-server every 10 min with fcron that I found in this thread:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=512856

I made a fcrontab-file as root with
fcrontab -e
& 0,10,20,30,40,50 * * * * /bin/su - user -c "/usr/bin/syncevolution funambol"

Tried the same experiment, didn't make a difference: still no success with the alarms.

Maybe it's something in the settings. I've got Calendar Source N900, Calendar synchronization : Normal

Could you tell me your settings ?

I have the same settings. Strange then. :-o

I'd try contacting Goosync support helpdesk. They are pretty good when it comes to help out on unusual issues, at least I have very positive experience so far.

I managed to set up synchronization between evolution running on my laptop and the scheduleworld server, and synchronization between my N900 and the scheduleworld server.

However, all events that I can see using the web front-interface at scheduleworld appear to be time-shifted by +2 hours, and all events in my N900 are time-shifted by +1 hour. This is strange! Any ideas how to fix this?

Double-check timezone settings on device and scheduleworld. I've had similar issue when I was travelling outside UK and didn't update timezone in my Goosync and Google Calendar.
