Mostly.

If you already have web and walk, then they will take that off and put the web and walk plus on. which results in paying an extra £5.

I couldn't get Skype to work under 3G, but meh, that was either bad luck, or incompetence on my part.

I have spoken to someone at tmobile and he said that voip use/software is not allowed over web n walk. He says that my phone (n900) and/or software (pidgin, amsn) must be acting as voip software (msn has the capacity for voice chatting).

The web n walk plus has a 3gb allowance and allows voip. He upgraded me to that for a two-day trial and I was able to sign in to msn via pidgin and amsn. It normally costs an extra £5 a month for this.

I was able to connect to msn via windows live for s60 on an n95 8gb while on web n walk. So it seems either the windows live software is specifically allowed or it is using different ports or protocols from pidgin/amsn on n900, which does not identify it as voip.

Can you please give me details of how to get access via jabber (eg specific applications to install) and I'll try tmobile again.

Many thanks.
This is what I did.

I registered to a public jabber site (i used jaim.at) but there are loads.

Try here for a list http://www.jabberes.org/servers/

I then installed PSI http://psi-im.org/wiki/Main_Page on my PC

Logged using newly created jabber account

Used the service discovery option and added msn.
This allowed me to log in to msn using my msn details.

On the n900 I added my jabber account from the IM accounts section etc and all linked up

Hope this makes sense?

Thanks darlomrh. I'll try this out in a few days when I return to the web n walk.

Those of you with problems, refuse to talk to an agent, ask to speak to a supervisor. No one else is of any help at T Mobile.

Just been testing with my friend's recently ordered N900 T-Mobile contract and found a way around it.

Use home Wifi to connect and setup/signin to your account, then switch to T-Mobile Internet

Let me know if it's working for you too

Package he's on was the £30/month MPD with T-Mobile

So I am back to Web n walk now and have lost access to msn via pidgin internet and amsn on n900 tmobile contract.

I followed darlomrh's instructions above (#43) and I was able to have access to msn via jabber. The only issue (for me) with above is that msn contacts get integrated into the phones contact. To keep contacts separate, I have tried to sign in to my jabber account via pidgin internet messenger but that is not working on tmobile (works on wifi). Anyone else managed to make it work via pidgin?

At least I can have access via integrated IM section of n900 menu.

Im on tmobile in the uk and I can use skype on web n walk... ive just turned off my home wifi and connected via 3g and done the echo test, is a bit jumpy but it works... I had no tmobile bumf with my contract so if I was unable to connect I would cancel as I asked in the shop to make sure I can stream music and use voip! the dude told me of course, infact he looked at me like I was from 1998!

My month of handset as modem has finished and I'm back to msn and facebook chat not working. So I guess it's time for the jabber workarounds *sigh*

I See you made a post in the Tmobile forum, which is a shocking and the worst run forum I have ever been on. Did you get any joy?
