Perhaps code77 could set up a little repository for his app instead of supplying the .deb? How is Ovi doing it? The latest firmware was released partly to make Ovi downloads work, right?

Just trying to figure out how to work around the missing dependencies problem... The most annoying thing about the Debian package mgmt system in my opinion.

One question: Is it optified? I'm interested in this but I'm not buying something that takes rootfs space...

see? these are the questions a guy wouldn't have to ask if there was a lite version in Extras...

Neat app, I suppose. Just not worth the money. I mean, how hard is it really, to change your desktop backgrounds manually? I suppose if you like to change your backgrounds a lot, it may be worth it to some...

As far as downloading wallpapers for you... it only does so from one website (correct me if I'm wrong). If the n900walpapers.com (or whatever that website is) had thousands of wallpapers, I could understand, I suppose. But even that site doesn't have a lot compared to what our good friend google shows us when we google 800x480 wallpapers.

Because not everyone wants to do it manually. Sure it's not that hard, but for some people it's work they don't want to do. Just like it's easy to install things using a command line or use the command line to run an app but some people prefer a GUI.

And if people can make money selling an automated method that works nicely, why the heck not. Your not losing anything if your not using it (it's not like they're blocking you from accessing the wallpapers).

Frankly I would buy it if an automatic wallpaper changer was added (say an interval a user could set). That way you could wake up to a new wallpaper set each day (or every hour, etc..) Sure it could probably be scripted, but I'm to lazy to learn and do it myself. =P

if you count some value to your work, you will find out that the application has paid itself back after couple wallpaper downloads + switching to the ones that span all 4 desktops.

I can think of million better things to do in my spare time than
1. download wallpapers one by one
2. copy the wallpaper description file from earlier spannable wallpaper
3. edit it
4. go to desktop settings and switch backgrounds
