Not working correctly for me here.
When i click the widget I get the :
Shutter: IRsend took 0 seconds (CANON RC1/RC5:S)
but my Canon 40D does not respond.
I think lirc is ok, as I have the Raemote apple remote widget working fine.
Any ideas ?

I also get the message IRSend took 0 seconds which I am assuming is a normal message?

DOH!!!!!
on reading up further on it.... the issue here is the camera.
The 40D and higher end canons don't use infrared for remotes.
They use a different stupid wireless technology
