I've no idea, but your other option is taking it in for repair, which will take a lot longer than just reflashing the eMMC, so it's worth a shot.

That's the output from "top". I prefer htop myself, which is available from the maemo.org repository.

im going to do another flash tommorrow and the emmc also.
whats the best way to retain contacts and sms conversations? not concerned about pictures or music, they are easy to put back on.
anything else i should remember and i keep reading dont reboot but what about when it reboots itself after the flash?
thanks again

The backup application should back up contacts & conversations. Make sure you back up to SD card though, or copy the backup to your PC.

When you run the flasher command, one of the command-line switches you use is "-R" which tells it to reboot after flashing. If you're doing the eMMC then you first reflash the firmware without adding the "-R", then reflash the eMMC with the "-R".

In reality, this doesn't matter at this stage - it's only after PR1.2 that it becomes critical to flash it in that order without a reboot.

Just copy it back after flashing. You may need to run a backup first, to get the N900 to create all the necessary directories. I assume you copied the whole backup directory?

Yep, that looks correct.
