The N900 is still fully supported by Nokia seeing a release in some APAC countries coming up. Nokia Kenya just announced that they won't be bringing the N900 out in Africa unfortunately.
The N900 has a ton of useful apps slowly but surely maturing into great products, however there is a lack of 'entertainment' software. If your use case for this device is entertainment then you really are in the wrong place.

A previous poster mentioned the n95 as not having bugs etc, until the third firmware update that enabled demand paging that phone was almost unusable due to crashes and out of memory errors (I know cos I had one), the N95-8gb was the third iteration of the N95 to come out and by then they had optimized the software for the hardware as well as they could.

The N900 with maemo 5 will see at least two more updates and then with Meego probably see updates clear into next year sometime. This is no time to get bored with the N900 and as another poster said selling now probably isn't your best ROI.

I'm sure you're not the only person getting bored with your N900 - there's a few in this thread I'm not, though. Here's my 2p:

All new gadgets have their honeymoon period, but personally I've found that the N900 has remained more genuinely useful than I had expected. As I write this (on my N900), I've used it for navigation, SMS, calls, music and browsing, all in the last couple of hours, in a more seamless manner than I would on any other smartphone I've tried. Importantly for me, I never get the feeling that someone or something is getting in my way of doing it.

The lack of apps is a reasonable criticism, but I think that's a personal thing, too. I'd much rather have a few good, reliable ways of getting things done - which I have - than a plethora of below-average apps to swim through.

Sure, the shine might wear off, but this is a workhorse I currently wouldn't want to be without.

I think for the typical user coming out from the iPhone and Android and not so much Windows Mobile (since untill now has been buggy, requires some tweaks, etc...) the N900 experience is not as pleasent as it seem. Phoning can be frustating and other simple tasks you would expect to accomplish flawlessly. BUT the Nokia N900 is a great phone awaiting for the user to explore it more... just like a Linux distro awaiting to be more developed... I've got my complaints about but that doesn't matter so much cause if I weight it the device is what I expect... I bought because I wanted a platform that had space to improve and to develop, tweak... I'm thinking in getting an android phone for the same purpose as well...

Just a small point and in no way am I having a pop at Sonic but for many users, me included, "lack of portrait" is not a negative...Personally speaking, I neither want nor need it.
There is an assumption on this forum that portrait is wanted by all, and that simply is not the case.
You may wish for it, need it, want it, but Nokia never said it would come across the OS, and i knew that before i bought it.

Thats ok Dan I dont take it as a pop, I want things out of my n900 that probably noone else wants and vice versa

I dont assume that anyone else wants want I want, I spent quite a long time debating which phone to get or indeed even to change my phone and I looked into it in great detail im a libran too so I have to weigh up all options and angles too LOL

tbh I would only really like portrait for web for odd websites (we now have this) and I would like it for SMS but its more because its what Im used to and in reality I much prefer my blackberry pearl 8110 for email and text because it is really really quick and easy to use and can be done 1 handed

This is getting ridiculous.
I'm not bored with the N900.

I use it for phone calls, MSN, Skype, maps, and web browsing on the go, or while I can't sit in front of a desktop computer.
It simply augments the way I'm communicating with people.
(And it also has some games, which is always good.)

So, why should I feel bored about it?
Or, what part should I feel bored about?

I think about it as a nice-to-have tool, not as my main souce of excitement.

Too many die hard Nokia fan boys on the forum. The N900 is an expensive joke that even Nokia have acknowledged by their silence. Sell it why you can still get a few Quid for it if I were you OP.

Lovin my new iPhone by the way. Just if you hadn't heard.

Open source! my arse. Amatuer apps on a never to go anywhere platform.
