So does PR1.1.1. There're some annoying bugs that have to live with everyday. It's possible that this RC is more stable than current PR1.1.1 or the other way round, but I rather update now, plus it's Sunday here, I have more time to configure and do stuffs with the phone.

Is it still 1st of May in europe? Who knows, they might still be on holiday. If they planned to release on May 5th (if true) or maybe longer, those who wait will be more impatient as days, or minutes, or seconds passed... There's no any information when it will be available, at least they should provide a date, people might be more prepared and patient instead of checking the updates every day or hour, etc. Probably they weren't confident with their firmware? Who knows.
At least previous MeeGo release there's a date and it was accurate.

It is not yet because it is still in testing. It is probably still in testing because of THIS

The meego release =/= a firmware update

Off-topic: I think there's a high upgrade possibility for leaked PR1.2 to real PR1.2 even if Nokia does not support it, you can still get packages manually. (and maybe it will work, maybe it won't. who knows..)
Then I misunderstood you. Sorry about that.

Yes it's supposed to update OTA between official releases, but then again if a user has been messing too much with devel and testing software it may not work, even with official firmwares.

Someone else who knows better can give a better answer...
that is not what i mean mate

on other devices it is possible to format/put it back to box new with a few clicks , wiping all data from the device and making it factory fresh

for example on s60 devices you simply type in *#7370# or hold a few buttons down while booting up and this will put the phone back to factory new state

on the n900 you have to flash the emmc and the handset to get it to factory new

i heard pr1.2 would introduce a n900 factory reset method and wandered if this had been introduced into the leaked beta pr1.2 firmware so it is now possible to put the phone back to factory new state without having to flash the emmc and the handset

As far as I can tell, the new option on the drop down menu in settings Clear Device should do that.

I'm not trying, though!

Yes, I am sure. I double-checked the phone was not overclocked and it was proprely updated. The result 10141 was the second one I got after I tweaked browser settings and closed luxus and SIXAXIS.

Cache should be set to 40Mb to speed up the browser...

But yeah, I really got 10141 w/o overclocking and with PR1.2.

Overclock to 750MHz shows 17874 marks.

For comparison, SRWare Iron on the PC? 328518

Wat?

I downclocked (echo 599000 > blah blah blah) back to 600MHz and it shows exactly the SAME score (of 17874)?!

Edit : Overclocked to 1GHz, same score.

Wat.
