If I as flash developer will create open source project and release sources it means you cannot enjoy it for free?

If I as flash developer will decide to do some freelance job and get paid for that because I am living in real world that you have to pay your bills is something wrong that this source will be close and protected for my client only?

Back to this 4 years old not up-to-date table again and compare to java that was mainly using in mobile world. Today AS3 is far better, and wit Flash 10.1 will be more. You don't need to be brainwashed, Just a little bit open-minded to see the facts. I know it's seems to be hard for some people.

The only point is the fricking distribution license but doesn't affect us developers and customers in terms of what we are doing.

And I don't understand why 2 companies Adobe and Nokia working together along with many others companies as part of Open Screen Project WITHOUT distribution restrictions because of above having this strategy.

If you don't like flash cool, it's your business, you can enjoy any other technology available for free. For me believe or not 10.1 means more possibilities and enjoyment that I would have on N900. It's noting to do with being Adobe funboy in this case.

I would not buy it. I would wait to see what Nokia will do as far as support. If I were you I would go for Android, 2.2 Froyo update looks insane.

just go buy Htc Desire....n900 is burned.....or perhaps wait for iphone hd..

Apart of what I said about flash on N900,
It's very important part for me this is why I'm so frustrated about this.
And I end up as N900 user because of that hope.

But also I have to add, by accident I became owner of very good peace of hardware and I really love my N900. The way how Maemo works and flexibility I have here. Having flash on it would make this device perfect for me and my personal needs. Without even thinking I would recommend this device to anybody i know.

But this is real life example:

3 days ago I started some freelance contract, and guess what. I'm the part of team that needs to prepare advert campaign for Palm! I had to know the product I'm going to present all of good things about it and I still can't break a wall to say something good about this cellphone. To compare to N900 its a joke and plastic toy. The way how uncomfortable whole system works, how glitchy is, Small screen etc. And you would be surprised reaction of people on the meeting when I proudly put my N900 in the middle of the table. Someone was even was p***t of on me because I change the subject to Nokia device for next half an hour. But again... this plastic toy will get flash 10.1...

The only three things which I want from Nokia are -

-OVI Maps
-PR 1.2 as it brings Qt and
-Flash 10.1

And life would be easier.

I've monitoring this forum since I got my N900 early this year. It is really hard to imagine how weak and incomplete the phone features are. This phone sucks so much that I have to register just to post this response. It's really frustrating at best. Save your time and energy and just buy an Android phone. You will feel much happier enjoying using the phone as a tool rather becoming a slave just trying to make things work!

In terms of hardware spec, this phone is probably among the top and tethering is working through USB or Bluetooth. The softwares (except the browser) and basic phone features sucks big time.

- OVI Map/GPS - is this a joke!
- OVI Web Based Applications- does it work at all! N900 is not supported
- Picture Quality/Video Quality - maybe this is common to all phones. Big mega pixels and Carl Zeiss lense doesn't translate to image quality.
- Battery Life - the phone sometime just drain the battery for no good reason!
- Phone Dialing, man! try to dial a phone number when this thing is in sleep mode! It's a pain!
- Bluetooth Contact List Integration - will it ever work! There are so many people monitoring this bug and it is still in low priority! Nokia won't listen and prioritize based on customers interests! You Guinea Pig!
- The Schedule software sucks big time and it cannot be synced with Google, and it cannot manage simple Daytime Saving Change!
- Try to create a play list in the media player! Or play many video clips! You will suffer!
etc, etc....

Yea! I do like the fact that the flash can be used as as a flash light! It does come in handy!

I am waiting to test out PR1.2 to see how much the this phone features have improved!

The N900 has no equal. Some phones/devices have good aps that work quicker or look slicker but you don't always get the real deal when it comes to the web. My wife has an iTouch which is great for her. Apps for utube, qvc, etc work amazingly well, but they don't give you the full web experience. My son has a Droid which has similar specs as the N900. It has apps like the iTouch and a good browser. I was actually going to get the Droid before I found this.
Everything people are saying is true from their perspective, so what is yours? If you can answer yes to the following questions then this may be for you.
1. Do you know what dos is, or done any programming?
2. Do you understand how compuer hardware works?
3. Do you know how networks, operating systems, and software work & interact?
4. Do you like to tinker with and tweak your computer?

If not, go buy an android or webos phone and not an internet tablet.

You can safely buy it.
The web browsing performance will not let you down.
I have tried some really complicated email and crm web sites even with integrated chat clients and this N900 is the only device that renders those without needing to fall back on the "mobile edition" of the web site.

The only regret about the N900 is that is should have been launched 10 years ago.
