being able to search for albums and the improved internet browser were enough for me, not to metion the other bug fixes and improvements. I think that people who installed the leaked PR 1.2 are disappointed with the update, while people like me who updated with only the official releases are happy because this is our first time with the new improvements.

I haven't seen much of significance in the 'bug thread', but really, in particular in the Off-topic threads, the noise people are making is turning this wonderful community platform in something close to a madhouse!

My OTA upgrade was smooth, having de-installed potentially problematic stuff as a precaution, and I was generally satisfied with the new firmware, although I didn't find much difference in speed or anything. What I really do welcome though is the possibility of getting blue characters by long-press. (Still have to try out skype video.) Scrolling has a somewhat different resistance now, which I also like (but I have seen posts going mad about this minor adjustment).

However, the same evening I encountered a bug, which really made me regret having done the upgrade: PDF reader no longer displaying all mathematical symbols, which for me is very important. But through that I found out that there is a better PDF reader available anyway from maemo.org, namely evince (in extras-devel), and besides I found that I can just replace the standard pdf viewer by its previous version (see the link above).

Qstardict, another application which I used regularly, also was killed by the upgrade, but again, I found a replacement, mstardict, that I now like even better.

One problem that remains (for the moment) is a particular hack in Easy Debian that no longer works, but which is a comparatively minor inconvenience, and for sure temporary, too.

Oh, and I just learned that under the hood there are some important improvements that I might actually need sooner or later, such as PEAP+MSCHAPv2 WiFi authentication

EDIT: The Easy Debian problem is already fixed. Which shows that the maemo.org developers are awesome - even if PR 1.2 does not qualify for such praise.

1. Browser is faster

4. More apps work
5. New QT
6. New Ovi maps
7. Everything pretty much works
8. Better battery life
9. Portrait modes in browser and conversations
10. Skype video calls
11. Enhanced media player
12. Improved calendar
13. Smoother scrolling

And I do not want any angry comments on how I am wrong. Itīs a miracle Maemo-community even gets updates anymore when thinking how bad itīs going with Nokia...
I just wish that I am experiencing the same thing as you.. especially on the first one..

- My Browser is slower now.

- 2G/3G and wifi reception is now a lot weaker than before..

- It now sometimes also becomes unreponsive.

- Media player now stutters a lot easier than before (when playing a song; due to high CPU usage from other applications)...

- There are noticable lag on many apps (but I am guessing that it's up to the maintainer of that app to fix the issue)... iNES, OffScrn Solitaire are the ones that I can think of right now..

... There's others but can't think of them right now..

:/ Again I am filing bugs as much as I can... And I am glad that you have a great experience with your N900.. I envy you..

its nothing special - i dont see the point in the ovi maps improvement when the improvement we all wanted was towards the Ovi Maps 3version.
