No hardware QWERTY? Offer me Swype, and I'd be appeased.

No hardware QWERTY and offer me the same virtual keyboard the N900 has? I'd be very incensed.

I'm all for options. My list was very broad and general. Lets say in the first 2 phones you have one that has keyboard and one without. That's only an additional 2 to the list with a total of 7, which is still way less then 16.

But, options don't always mean more sales as proven by Apple. Nokia needs to slim down and focus on a few models.

That's just my opinion.

having more models is one of the reasons why nokia has more customers, too. if you don't want a touch screen or need a hardware qwerty keyboard - what does apple have for you?

LIke i said.. I'm all for options and I suggested having keyboard vs non keyboard options.

But do we really need 7 different c class phones??

well, mercedes has about 10 different c-class models

I wonder if Nokia will make the necessary drivers available such that buyers of the N9 will be able to use community builds of MeeGo that allow greater customization than their default.

Hopefully they won't go full ****** on us.

Not everyone wants the exact same phone of the next guy, and not everyone has the same paycheck. Even in the low end market (and maybe even more because it's low end); variety means a lot.

It's not it's too hard for Nokia to manufacture model with different color or form factor anyway, S40 is cheap, etc etc.

a hardware keyboard, the one without the keyboard has been delayed or scrapped.

I dont quite remember where I read it, will try to find it.

More MeeGo phones the better no doubt, but we need to remember that there's Symbian Foundation that's taking the largest bite of the cake in sales. It could be that the MeeGo phones will actually drive the development more in Qt than Symbian thought.

Imo still MeeGo phones should be unique very high end coming from Nokia. Other manufacturers can of course build as many MeeGo phones as they want and it's all great for Nokia and Intel.
