Here is v0.6-1.

Changes are:
  • Fix resizing problem where the widget would not reduce its size
  • Fix problem with .desktop entries without a Name (was causing the off-by-one problem)
  • Ignore .desktop entries with Type=Desktop.

I believe that this will be the last version before uploading the 1.0. All bugs should be fixed now. Please report success/failure here.

Thank you all for testing it!

That^ would be my contribution to the code if I did know.
What exactly do you mean by "widget icons"?

Well... it is... but the reasons i didn't add this are:
  • It would need another window in settings
  • It would have an ugly 1,2,3,4,5,6 option

It is in my low-priority todo list. Until then you can add 2 instances of drlaunch and "emulate" 4x6.

A feature request:
Add an option to start applications with custom parameters on (hidden) command line.
Like for getting bug reports and most help from FAQs, start application so it will use English instead whatmatter language the device is configured to:
See http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...507#post727507

Somehow should be easily turned off/on.

I find this to be out of the scope of drlaunch and way useless for most users. I believe that the console is fine for debugging by itself (no?).

Quick question - are you parsing the .desktop files by yourself?

Yes. Have a look at apps.py. Is there another method?

You can use this:
http://library.gnome.org/devel/gio/2...-GAppInfo.html

or simple GKeyFile
http://library.gnome.org/devel/glib/...le-parser.html

Check how I'm doing it in Search Tool (Vala but nevertheless), utils.vala. I'm using mime types to detect the needed executable/dbus service to open it with.

I use one desktop only for shortcuts and it is possible to have 8x4 shortcuts to one desktop screen without overlapping and with enough space between each icon but when I want to use DrLaunch for the same amount of shortcuts there is not enough space because of a bigger border (only 7x4 is possible).
Could you please add a(n optional) "thin" mode or something like that to support 8x4 shortcuts on one desktop?
Would be really nice!

Thanks a lot for this widget!

I use it to keep Phone, Messaging and Contacts on each one of my desktops, a spacing option would be nice though

Till this widget came up it was quite a pain to achieve this and even a bug report, so thanks a lot!
