I've put an "Ideal" mode. Strange thing is that during the day it's like I have a double capacity battery but once you go wifi the drain is enormous - drained a fully charged bat for 1.5 hours

The only change in v40 is:

* install build scripts properly in /usr/src/kernel-power-kbuild

Guess this will not change much in kernel functionality...

I get this error
/home/user # kernel-config show
This kernel version 2.6.28-omap1 is not supported
Please make sure that kernel-power is installed and running.
If you have just installed the kernel, you need to shutdown and boot to activate it.
To reinstall the power user kernel run:
'apt-get install --reinstall kernel-power kernel-power-flasher'
Have uninstall and reinstalled with no luck
Tried versions 37 to 40
Have reflashed phone twice the annoying thing is it did work
a few weeks ago with version 37 until i updated to version 39
Can access phone by via winscp is there anyway to manualy
delete all trace of the kernel and start again.

Any help please

you can, de-install kernel first then disable extras-devel update app manager then there you are install v37 from extras repo

I am on wifi all day and my battery drain is nice and steady while the phone is doing nothing. Obviously if I am doing a lot of network traffic then it does chew up the battery.

I'm here to find out how to uninstall aswell? I just installed power kernel (settings) from app manager and overclocked to 1000Mhz with no issue's but the thread i followed said not to uninstall from app manager as it doesn't work? Also there's a new icon in the menu that says "deinstall kernel" or summot like that. What happens if u run it? I followed the commands in xterm to uninstall but it didn't work now my phone is dead?? I should get it back shortly and i want to OC again but i need to know the right way to uninstall first.

Do not try to uninstall the power-kernel from the app manager - it will fail. You can uninstall by either clicking the 'Deinstall Kernel' icon in the menu (very slightly risky, but best for n00bs) or by following the manual deinstallation instructions found here (completely safe if done carefully):
