Nyleridedog where do you set the buffering length of time? I have been through the settings page, viewing from the N800, and don't see an option like the one you mention. I didn't see it in the media center either. By chance is it an option for the browser on the N800?

So, I got orb working fine. I am just wondering about the sharing of my files. How come Canola can see my orb stuff? I thought to access these files you needed to provide a password at mycast.orb ?

I got same problem. I found out that pics can be opened via File Browser. Little bit more difficult to find pics via file browser but it worked

File Browser can be found from Main view of ORB.

This is my first post & I have just got myself a Nokia N800. I downloaded orb on to my PC no problem, but I am having problems with my N800.

It tells you to type in the address http://mycast.orb.com but when I type that into my N800 I get the following message "This site has sent an untrusted certificate" certificate cannot identify the server.

Can anyone help & tell me what I am doing wrong please.

Thanks,

Chris

Mine did that, too, at first. Try rebooting the tablet.

Nope, it's just the mobile version of Orb sized to fit the Nxx0 screen.... maybe with auto bitrate setting to 160kbps (otherwise it would autodetect far higher, then swamp the CPU).

Sorry guys but I am not very good with technology, but I now have got Ord to run on my N800 & it streams my audio no problems off my computor.

What I am having big problems with is video, it keeps stopping to buffer after about 7 seconds, it then uploads a bit more (but mainly just audio) plays for a few more seconds & then buffers again.

What is strange is I can go onto Youtube directly and stream a music video & it does not keep buffering.

In the quote above it mentions changing the bitrate to 160kbps, how do I do that & would it help?

this certificate thing somehow annoying.

Yes, rebooting solves but should i reboot everytime ???

I wonder what causes the problem, OS or ORB side...

Orb is very CPU consuming, maybe that's your problem?
Also, you should have some decent upload to stream succesfully over the Internet. YouTube doesn't need that much bandwith; it's quality is rather poor.

On a sidenote: releasing Orb as a niche product for the N800 is, erhm, well, stupid. There is absolutely no difference to the 'older' versions of Orb. The display adaption you call 'the mobile version of Orb sized to fit the Nxx0 screen' is not new and not unique to the N800.
