Can I request shift and function are both sticky keys like ctrl is please? I set a password via presence VNC that included numbers and didn't realise is hadn't picked up the numbers. Took me ages to work out what I had actually typed.

Also, is there any way you could get it to remember connections and passwords? I have a few machines that I VNC into and to just be able to select the desired viewer from a list would be very handy.

finally got it working on my setup and i have to say im very impressed.

You already mentioned cpu improvement so i wont bemoan that too mun. i do notice slightly inreased cpu usage when app is minimized as compared to vnc viewer.

- when rotating screen tearing and artifacting begin to occur.
- would be awesome to have way to launch the virtual kb

thanks a ton I'm eagerly looking forward to the next release.

Uploaded 0.4, which has:
* Add virtual keyboard (seperate return key in the toolbar because Nokia messed up)
* Remember VNC servers and passwords
* Fix tearing after scrolling
* Hide toolbar in fullscreen mode

Also, CPU usage should be lower when minimized, though it's not where I want it to be (yet).

You sir as the man.

I've noticed that vnc-viewer seems to handle apps which utilize fast frame rates (IE games, and animation) better. Not sure if this is on your radar, but maybe your algorithim for screen update polling could be tweaked to allow it to dump some of the information, which would give the appearances of less lulling.

Also could you make an option to decrease the color depth. (Similar to VNC Viewer's 8 and 16-bit options)? This would help on slow connections tremendously.

Thank you very much for your work.

For now, you can try connecting from the command line to lower the quality:
Code:
presencevnc vnc://hostname 3
Which VNC server / connection type do you use? With x11vnc over wifi I tend to have a higher framerate and less lag than with vnc-viewer

Finally got it working and it's much faster than vnc-viewer. My computer only have a 1mBit connection but it's sufficient to move around my mouse pointer in almost real-time. One thing that would be cool is the use of RealVNC's improved screen driver, but IIRC it's closed source?

That's server-side only isn't it? It just affects how the server gets notified of changes to the screen, so there's no direct interaction with the viewer. And there's an open-source equivalent available (search for dfmirage).
