i'm seriously considering HTC Desire. no doubt that N900 is a powerful device. but it sucks at doing the basic telephony stuff. sometimes, i need to reboot my phone just to make a call.

Not sure what I'll get after the n900. No doubt an Android-powered device, but you never know where Meego will end up. Easy enough to offload the n900 if need be, but it does what I want at the moment.

Had an N800, skipped the N900, waiting for a good tablet COMPUTER (not a cell phone) to come out from someone at a reasonable price. To me, it looks like it MIGHT either be a MeeGo tablet (I'll be avoiding Nokia, if at all possible) or an Android 3.x tablet. If you're talking cell phones, I already went Android with the Motorola Droid--loving it greatly, too... but I don't see how it aligns with a the 770/N800/N810/etc. so I consider myself still waiting for the next great tablet.

I went from N900 to HD2 to Nexus One to IPhone 4. N95 8gb is always around. The iPhone is my favorite and the N900 is a very close second. I tried all the android phones and they were not my cup of tea. It seems all android phones have horrible battery life. iPhone battery can last all day with some heavy usage. All this open and closed stuff doesn't matter that much to the basic end-user. I haven't noticed any applications that were better from android to ios. Higher quality in ios and maybe more function over form for android. N900 could have killed with some more basic features and thought. Just my thoughts if anybody cared to hear them.
P.S. You will always want another phone that you can't have. Live with what you have and don't waste all your money on these devices that are outdated in 6 months. I know from personal experience.

I basically want a phone that is thinner, lighter, and equiped with more ram than the N900, which is expected from the N9. I am just running out of patience!

Its gonna be one of the nicer WP7 phones that will hopefully be coming out in the next few month. The first one is supposed to be out as early as a couple of weeks, and then theres probably gonna be a flood in November.
I'm really looking forward to the media capabilities of WP7. Coming from the N900, which can't even play some of my podcasts properly and constantly mixes up my album art, WP7 should be a godsend.
I will be sad to leave behind the qwerty keypad though, as I see more manufacturers moving to full touchscreen with only an onscreen keypad. I think the majority of WP7 phones will follow suit.
As for Nokia, I switched to them from the iPhone, and I will most likely never buy another product from them again.

Trust me on this one, BB Torch is a nightmare way too slow, the CPU is for 6xx Mgz and is not enough...

A guy in the office came in with a dell streak this morning - I have to say that Im am very very impressed - this 'might' possible be my next phone to replace my beloved N900.
The biggest surprise was just how pocketable it was - I really didn't notice it in my pocket and the screen is amazing.
It has everything I could want and is very responsive to use..
Downside - no hardware keyboard and Android - Im used to Maemo and the completely unlocked experience but I could always jailbreak it
Im surprised at how much I liked it, I didn't want to, but after spending the last 15mins playing around with it - my N900 seems clunky and slow and dated and I so want one of these now...
