Update: I determined that when I deselect "Large Statusbar Clock", I no longer have the problem.

Yeah, that's standard. As a defence mechanism, when hildon-desktop crashes it gets restarted without loading any third-party plugins (otherwise it could easily find itself in an endless restarting loop), but it doesn't modify its configuration so a reboot brings it back as set up by the user.

Can you get rid of large statusbar clock at least temporarily and try to reproduce? We know that's buggy so any crashes while it's enabled don't really tell us anything interesting.

Since instalation of Diablo community SSU, I get a false "Updates Available" prompt every week or so. Eight apps are updated, but they are same version.

do you happen to have both the testing and official SSU repository active in the applications manager?
i see something similar because i have both extras and extras-devel active, and both contain a copy of the gconf manager. So when one of them fails a refresh (usually -devel) i get a "updates waiting" indicator that is just about the same version but from a different repository.

Yes, I still have the "Extras" and "Extras-Devel" repositories enabled. Should I disable them?
