N900 has got such a good Hardware that if Nokia would have made it commercial and provided ample support, it would have been a revolutionary smartphone like N95.

Its not late yet, nokia can still release a commercialize it with an enhanced OS and make it a success. But that does'nt seem to be the case. Sad, they can do that with CRAPPY N97.

Feel free to put me into your buddy list if you want to try skype video
3G video call is like 5 times more expensive than voice call here in Japan so to me it is not a big drawback not to be able to do it. The fact is not being able to do it when needed irritates me.
PS. How do you initiate a skype video call from N900?

Skype video: If you are calling to a PC, make sure it has a video camera, otherwise the N900 will not display any video call option. If available, then your contact will have a Skype video call option.

Another option I have not tried (but read here), was to access call options once you have established the connection. Video call option should be available.

I'm surprised you are using Nokia instead of Sharp, or some other NTT stuff in Japan. I hear those phones are much more interesting.

I meant from PC with webcam you can make video chat to PC without camera, from N900 I could not.

I tried Sharp. They are so closed for me who know nothing about hacking. Every app you want you have to find on their Japanese online store. You can't even put mp3 to a sharp phone by yourself but have to download from Japanese music store.

In short, a total lack of freedom compare to using a Nokia, even an operator-locked Nokia.

Yes, what I know is that N900 only allows to connect Skype video call to webcam enabled PC/device.
