No its the other way round. You first have to flash the EMMC and then without rebooting the phone flash the FIASCO image.

I would need to recharge daily, but it would make it through most of the day on a single charge even if I made calls, used IM and spent a couple of hours running programs.
By the time my N900 had reached about ten months of age, the battery that came with it had degraded to a point that it only provided about six hours of minimal use on WiFi and 2.5G. In October, I purchased an inexpensive, non-Nokia replacement battery, and with it, my N900 has returned to providing a full day of use.

The information on flashing has changed fairly recently (I think). It was the way round that Jade said, but has now changed to the way that you siad.
@orlac: Would it be worth trying both ways anyway?

According to the page which you download flash images from, it said EMMC should be flash first then Fiasco. In reality, both ways work just fine.

Well there is no problem in trying. I did too but if you flash the kernel first and then the EMMC and start the phone you will not seen words when the homescreen launches. There will be just square boxes in the status bar, the menu, the application names & nothing will work.

That is why the Wiki mentions that you first have to flash the EMMC since it wipes out everything & then flash the kernel for things to load back to a default state.

Did a Clear around 9:30, and so far battery is still near full charge. I'll test the other issues as I can, but it looks promising so far.

So letīs be clear.

IF YOU
flash emmc and rootfs firmwares you will get factory reseted device. Do you follow? No restoring backups or no external microsd installed. If your device in this state behaves as you have described then clearly you have faulty device. Simple as that. No way to fix that by yourself.

I know the wiki is right but I always have done emmc last and have never had any probems.
Flashing emmc doesn't wipe everything. Home partition, yes, but nothing to do with kernel.
Anyway, not to worry.
