How do you manage to run out of battery several times in one day? The only thing I can think of is that maybe you're running internet radio streaming constantly..

(btw. it's better for the battery/batteries to top them up often instead of running them down. Unless you're always outside of a building it would pay to keep a charger around.)

I find that in practice I only need to reboot when:

1) When upgrading the OS
2) When upgrading a home applet, e.g. omweather. It's really just that the UI needs to be restarted, but I've not figured out a way of doing that which doesn't reboot the device.

So, I've had uptimes between 30 and 60 days usually. If I can fix 2) I expect to get uptimes running into the hundreds of days in the future.

... or an external AA-pod. If applied to a fully charged Itablet, they tend to keep the internal battery topped off. Which is a Good Thing <TM>.

Also: Cheaper than BP-5Ls and easier to stock up on spares.

My uptime is currently at 15 hours and 38 minutes. I reboot quite often (once a day or more often). I like to tinker and as many of you stated the IT REQURES reboot in some cases--just works better after a reboot.

How do I manage to run out of battery several times in one day? How many hours of continuous use do you get? I have never seen anyone claim to get more than 4-6 hours. I do a lot of audio listening. I suppose you can get ten hours of continuous listening to an mp3? I can't. How many hours of continuous listening to an mp3 CAN you get?

Sometimes I see a couple of days' uptime, but it's an exception. Reflashing and OS upgrades didn't change that ; if anything, it got worse with OS2006 (it's a 770).
A Linux system shouldn't behave this way.
Did someone already say this:
This bug is caused by alarms. You can set a new one and turn it off and it will stop I think. Too lazy to find the thread on this, but that's what causes it to reboot, I believe.

N800, ITOS2007, screen off, using Kilikali player: 9+ hours continuous. It's likely possible to get longer playtime, but I never let my battery run dry.

With the aforementioned AA pod, I can probably get at least 18 hours. I can't be certain, because I've never listened continuously for that long.

Curious, what audio transducers? Speakers, wired, or BT?

Me? Wired headset, BT headset with dongle and powered speakers. I think you'll find they all have quite similar effects on the Itablet's battery life (i.e.: as good as none).

I've been rebooting at least once a day because MicroB freezes up. However -- and I'm not joking -- I think that has happened only when I've been on the ITT Forum (i.e., this forum); and I think maybe it happens only when I've had the ITT home page open. So yesterday I switched my bookmark to New Posts, and I'm hoping I see much fewer browser freezes. Twice in two months I've had to yank the battery.
