Many apologies, I forgot this one originally. Because the headers have changed, a new fcam-drivers package is also needed - I've recompiled it and packaged it up:

http://ifile.it/f4waloh/fcam-drivers_1.0.7-2_armel.deb

Also, sorry for the delay in getting the compcache package updated. I'm hoping to have it done by the weekend. It didn't help that the tarball from BackupMenu (of my /home partition) had to be repaired, as I'd been updating the source on that prior to the USB port falling off; since then, work has been bogging me down all week. Ideally, I want to have it finished so that it can be included in the files for a new BFS release on the garage page, which is pending..

Thanks for posting.

FWIW, I've disabled the watchdogs and my sporadic reboots and freezing have basically all gone away.

Sorry for 600, of course I meant 600 MB :ashamed: As for swap usage, it's perfectly ok, that after re-enabling it goes slowly back to former usage - re-enabling it fights with 'fragmentation' causes by nature of flash writing process (fact, that flash storage needs to erase whole block, even if writing only part of it). I'll write more rationale about it later, as I'm on train now.

For now - setting microSD and eMMC swap together doesn't have much sense, as our main benefit from using swap from (even slowest) microSD, is eliminating I/O conflicts between partitions on same (physically) eMMC, from different partitions. Flash doesn't handle this very well, so I/O requests from opt (mmcblk0p2) and swap (mmcblk0p3) are performance killer.

I've promised o write extensive thread about swap-related optimizations in few days, as knowledge about this is spread amongst whole forum and few wiki pages, so stay tuned.

I have tried enabling a swap partition in my (definitely slow Kingston) 1 GB microSD. It was a disaster, locking the device for many minutes when swapping. So not always you get better performance.

hmmmmm in my testing the phone responds better with the striped swap device configuration vs a single swap device on the microsd.

i tested by having opera, microb, fmms, calendar, phone, contacts, sms, modest, xterm, settings, calculator, etc. plus a bunch of other apps opening up one after another. in addition, i opened up opera and microb first and had them both load 3-4 rather large web sites (each browser loading the same 3-4 pages).

the phone actually responds better (quicker) with the striped configuration.

i have a 16gb class 10 microsd.

errr...placebo effect??
