ELOP was sent in by Balmer to do the deal.

If this does happen, hopefully this doesn't end up like another Kin. I'd like to see Microsoft going head to head with Apple - good hardware design, software tailored for the hardware (hopefully we have no update fiascos. how can they mess that one up while in Windows world, the servicing stack is the best i've seen on a proprietary OS?)

he have been right before... alot. when he is wrong not by far, he mostly wrong when its personal stuff like camera quality persection etc.

but recently i heard nokia still in talk with google for adopting android,
considering everybody knows nokia WP7 sales will tank.

microsoft buying nokia mobile division its only way to stop it form jumping ship.
but it will be expensive nokai half finish economy, european union would be against it.

Broken-English jo21 is right! Considering Nokia is such an enormous part of the Finnish economy, I find it hard to imagine the EU would allow it--Nokia's already crippled the local economy and killed a lot of jobs as it is already... this would be several significant nails in Finland's coffin if it were allowed. Doesn't mean it WON'T happen, but it seems to me to be either unlikely or else fatal to a whole country's economy.

Windows sales fell in both of the last two quarters, which is unprecedented.

MS is getting desperate now as they see the support for traditional desktop PCs and even netbooks being eaten by mobile devices and tablets.

They have a long way to go, but I do wonder how they intend to deal with the slow decline of one of their core businesses.

Better watch out for a massive change to Nokia in every respect because it is on the cards now that Microsoft will soon own as much of Nokia it can get, so wait for the revolution to happen because it is sure as hell going to happen.

Anyone who knows anything about Microsoft will know it's manipulating ways to crunch its way forward just like the Rupert Murdoch and obviously Bill Gates way of business.

Change is happening to Nokia before our very eyes and we would be blind not to see it even at this stage !.

Problem is it is unclear what route Microsoft/Nokia will take next?.

Newsflash for you dude,

S60 is Symbian. Learn your facts before posting

Instead, S40 is a dumb OS. You never had a Nokia phone now did you?

I'm pretty certain he probably intended to imply that Symbian phones are dumbphones. There seems to be a lot of that opinion in these forums, right or wrong. It's not surprising, given this is a Maemo forum.
