I dug up dusty Laika v2.1 and pydev for eclipse what...3.0.2?... I think ...for the 770...boy...it has been an awful long time

the offline qtsdk lin64 v1.1.1 is a .run ... no permissions allowance nor terminal "chmod x" hackery-jiggery-pokery wants to open the damned thing.

Hmm. I did a chmod +x on v1.1.1 and got it to run on an Ubuntu machine this weekend; it should be possible to get it working somehow...

that qtsdk 1.1.1. did not like bodhi

next small footprint 'buntu derivative of choice lubuntu.
I have installed already in another machine...

I've wrestled (gadzooks... what a pain) systemback and qtsdk onto a fresh, clean, updated Lubuntu.

There is no superfluous crap installed on this Lubuntu only what it originally installs with..and what devel. work is specifically being put on it..so..no extra apps, games, cool whatever....this is going to be an ALL business distro.
Sorry no Flappy Bird ...No Facebook.
Also No conflicts or packages missing or broke non functioning itty-bits.

And beat the living crap into what is needed ...
into a rolling release distributable iso for install or live usb which can carry our needs in perpetuity ...or the sun frickin' burns out...whichever happens first.

-I've made a distributable iso with qtsdk on it as a test run.

-It is a live distro for r/wr dvd, usb or card.

-It'll work with whatever live usb/cd/dvd/card program that is compatible with making from alternative .iso and if you want persistence....the ability to alter your live usb and keep the changes between shutdowns and startups...then you want to use a program which allows it.

-you can make back up copies and toss them into storage for safe keeping in case of emergency.

-It runs beautifully.

I need those running scratchbox instances for virtualbox.
or
I need them built.
I can wrangle it all together.
But help is needed.

I just couldn't let it go.
I tackled lmde again.
I just couldn't believe neither Systemback nor Qtsdk wouldn't work.
Was ready to pull out the sledge hammer to make it run...
But the moment my test laptop saw the monster mallet it gave in.
I got both running smoothly on lmde...lmde2betsy actually.
thing is... the support for Systemback is 'buntu or Debian...debian jessie in fact....at least for now ...I'd like to see more wide-ranging support...I'm sure it will come.
. and Debian just released lmde for debian jessie.
It is a cyclic rolling release ..but at least it isn't based on truly unstable debian (which would probably be more problematic in the long haul with stuff breaking and all...it being a bit too "fresh")
And I know of no other Debian jessie rolling releases...so that is that ..until someone come up with one that is.
But I'm sure other methods can and are being done to turn rolling releases ...into live medium rolling releases.
I may try antiX ..it already being a live medium (cyclical) rolling release...It's been a while since I fiddled with that distro.
And I haven't given up on Bodhi either.
I intend to get it behaving so it is a viable option.
Did I ever mention before that I got a Distromance for Bodhi?

In the live image a few FAQs on how to submit to the autobuilder would hopefully encourage a new generation of app submitters.
I really appreciate all of this work, I was not able to get the dev environment back when it was easy. Hoping to see a renaissance of homebrew QT apps now that development will in theory become easy to do.

the Lubuntu live with Qtsdk I made works.

the LMDE live with Qtsdk I finished a few hours ago works.

I went back to the latest 13.(whatever) antiX just now (not the new mx) after wayyyyyy too many years away from it.
And I was really quite impressed...
Also after rummaging through the live-installable I found I won't need Systemback.
It has it's own concept of burning the installed running instance of antiX to live usb. Which is excellent.
I'm just not used to the distro after so long away from it....gotta just use it more.
I'll be working on getting Qtsdk running on it this weekend and a live usb made of it by Monday.

And I'm sure I can get Bodhi on track to utilize QtSDK.
So yeah...So far I'm very happy with the variety of option...especially having not just 1 but 2 rolling release distro choices along with Lubuntu (I'm sure Ubuntu, Kubuntu, and, Xubuntu will work butttttt . I think Ubuntu and Kubuntu are are unnecessarily weighty, flashy and slick for our pragmatic needs...also...who's going to play around with them? I figure Lubuntu will suffice. People will be too busy developing... to fiddle with desktop gadgets. )

The big thing is I am not keen on just making all this for one narrow method (qt)...however easy...or newer...it may be...nor just for one platform / device .
I don't think I'm shooting for the moon in expectation of doing the same for n8x0 and 770 and making it possible to utilize different development methods than just qt for the n900 too.
