I guest microb support will come in the next release.

http://maemo.org/news/announcements/...189171468.html

What's next

We are continuing the work on the Hacker Edition with the following goals:

* Update to maemo 4.0 Chinook
* Mozilla based engine
* Further bug fixes

I guess this is to be expected, as the original announcement (link on first post of this thread) clearly states :

Known issues
(...)
The Mozilla based browser is not included in this release, and the current version for the official Internet Tablet OS 2006 has some conflicts with dependencies. However, it shouldn't be difficult to build new packages specific for this Hacker Edition and then install the Mozilla engine manually.

Now we wait for the missing bit - not as if we aren't used to it, eh ? :-)

Well, it just says it is not included. Also version targeted for OS2006 may not be compatible with OS2007, this can be expected. But Carlos wrote "On the up side, all the user space libraries have been updated as well as all the applications, so we expect application portability across N800 OS2007 and the 770 hacker edition as long as code is not compiled specifically for OMAP2." so this should mean Microb for N800 should simply work.

However it looks it is not working. I guess this has something to do with browser UI being modified on hacker edition to work with older Opera engine. Once you update to microb which adds new engine but also updates the browser UI and abstraction layer it breaks. You can see dependencies for microb-browser in aplication manager, it can be seen it wants to update many tablet-browser-.... packages.

It installs - using the 770 version of mplayer - but it doesn't seem to work. I don't know why.

I was able to install skype on the latest OS2007 HE.
skype started and was showing the skype screen. But not response to any touch, then killed by the system.

You can download skype for n800 from here
http://www.skype.com/download/skype/...wnloading.html

or add the repository:
Web Address: http://catalogue.tableteer.nokia.com/certified/
Distribution: bora
Components: user

It seems that most libraries used by skype work. You may have a try to see if we can hack it.

Here are the output when start skype from xterm.

Hello,

Can somebody explain to me why the Operabrowser used in this Haccker edition has problems with Hotmail's log-on screen?
If I use the 'fit to width'-option, I can not see the login-fields and when turn this option off, the login-fields are to much (way to much) to the right. I have to use the horizontal scrollbar to get there.

Have you tried with kagu player. I think (may be wrong) it does not work with anything else
