'Can't' menaing it is impossible for you to flash or that you absolutely don't want to? If the former, then it will never be stable enough imo.

But then again, there are bugs in every level of firmware. If the latter, were you ever comfortable to update to PR 1.3? There will never be an absolute certainty, it may be best to wait until it's listed as stable and then make the decision on taking the gamble...but it would still be a gamble...even if it is ever-so-slight at that point.

I finally took the plunge with the latest release and it seems to be as stable for me as the previous firmware releases.

hmmm....at first you said "don't want" then at the end you said "you can't" so which one isit????

re-flash is the best way to get rid a kind of problem that your device have right now....
i use to be scare to reflash my device before but since my device got plenty of problem i decided to reflash it at the end....
make backup first using default backup apps (backupmenu also can but just for emergency cases)....then backup MyDocs files to your pc....after finish backup then re-flash....after re-flash restore backup....use default backup to restore back your files but remember don't restore applications list...re-install all apps/program manually so you can view the installation log carefully...
i did all that to my device...now i got no problem anymore (hopefully)...everything works flawless...no problem regarding installing libqtm-11 & libqtm-12 (for kaspovus & fMobi)...no random reboot & much more....

- Install Leafpad
- open X-terminal
- become root
- type leafpad /usr/share/hildon-desktop/transitions.ini
- leafpad opens
- edit file at the bottom
- blacklist = GarnetVM
- save, close and reboot

Apologies if this has already been covered, but it's a looong thrad and a cursory search didn't bring up the answers i am looking for:

I am not that interested in the new transitions or rotations, but I do quite like the idea of being able to use offline IMAP as per CSSU PR 1.3.3.7-10. Is there any way to install the latest modest/tinymail without the rest of the CSSU? Is it wise to do so? And, if it doesn't agree with me, can I revert to the stock version easily?

Yeah, you can. Not sure what the thread is but Matt (the developer of it) has his own repo with just that Modest patch in it. I assume I uninstalled the repo and the patch just like anything else when I updated to CSSU so yeah, it should be fine for that.

Do a search for modest patch or something to that effect. All the same, if you're not afraid of a reflash, CSSU is pretty awesome. No need to use the extra perks if you don't want to.

Found the thread, but it hasn't been updated in a few months and Matt stated he's giving up on Open Source. Is the CSSU in synch with his repo or a more up-to-date version?

At the moment my PC's broken and I won't get round to fixing it until I move in about a month, so I don't have reliable access to reflashing. After that, we'll see...

I copied the app.name from your post assuming it was spelled correct, sorry guilledoc.
