This is awsome!! My phone is super fast now! Although i have a couple of questions... and i appologise if its been mentioned already

I've overclocked to... load lv and 500 900 and alls well but after a couple minutes runtime when i verify "kernel-config show" its shows
min. frequency 125
max. frequency 900
I tried the avoid 125 command but same again? Can i ask if it matters and/or does it make much difference how i set the min frequency?
My next question is... I'm still pr1.2 (voda) so god knows when my next update will be, does this kernel work on pr1.3 if so is the process exactly the same and also when my update is available do i need to revert back to stock kernel before i do my update? Sorry for all the questions but i just wanna keep using this power kernel as its changed my phone completly! Thanks in advance...

now that you can download the cpufreqUI, do you still need to go around the xterm to overclock it?? Which is better?

I just loaded the ideal profile in xterm and set it as default, so it loads at boot. No GUI required at all....

So, overclocked my N900 last night and got a strange side effect that I haven't seen reported.

The wifi signal on the device running the modified kernel was much reduced over a stock device.

The devcie seemed to be 'deaf' to any wireless N signals and G signals were very much attenuated. I switchedthe kernel back and it all worked fine again!

I also had another un-modified N900 next to the overclocked one and that was fine.... so it wasn't the wifi signal.

Any suggestions. Overclocking this device really beings it to life....

Cheers,

John.

Did you overclock by using power-kernel? If so, what is the wifi situation if you use power-kernel and not overclock? If it has the same problem, then your problem is not related to overclocking.

Overclocked from the repository/catalog manager. Tried various overclocked settings, voltages and even not over-clocked but on the new kernel. The wifi was attentuated and unusable.

Switched back to the stock kernel and no problems. So, it appears related to the new kernel to me (and not sopecifically to the overclocking of that kernel).

Cheers,

John

Gna go blank flash pr1.3 and try the power kernel, used it before and it rendered my device unstable however being in 700 mhz was a beautiful experience, will report back soon.
