In the end it was not an oot (?, are you scottish or from MA?) question at all
Yeah, I will modify it again so it automatically enable device autolock.
btw, the value is not permanent. It will change back to 5 minutes after reboot
I'm not scot, I'm from Indonesia

Hey sLumPia,

you are right about reboot. Settings are taken from old apllet settings (just tested, too).
Seem these settings will be reread from safe area, like the lock code itself.

You may achieve the automatic setting via initctl (/etc/event.d/).
This way you may not enter interactively, but you need to specify fix value (or use config file)

thanks !!!

I'm not looking for a "how to". I just want to rest assured that my data will not be easily stolen.

Hey pali,
I thought this method does not work anymore since PR1.3?
Because lock code (or part of it) is stored also on mmcblk0p3 (maybe boot sector, like done in Symbian). Cant remember exactly who and where, but afairc joerg_rw also told so.
That was my info base to tell data is safe (totally ignoring rescue_os ).

So quintessence is nothing is safe unless (strongly) encrypted.
