power + d-pad center locks the device (n800), but fails to unlock.
strange thing is that if i forget and hit the d-pad center the last program I selected using personal launcher is opened with the screen still locked.
also the battery status keeps pooping up every ten seconds or so taking the focus away from what I am doing and requiring me to tap the screen to get rid of it. very annoying.
edit: think I fixed the battery status by de-selecting "asui-battery" then reselecting it in "panels"....odd

A program has disabled screen blanking and there is nothing ASUI can do about it. What apps do you have running? Do you use alarms? Are you not able to unlock it and reboot or shutdown from ASUI? Are you not able to long press the power button to shutdown?

Here is the debug log. The device was idle, in flight mode and blank-locked with no other programs running, for 6:45 hours before closing the log, battery dropped 12.4% during this time.
when the pop-ups occur the device is unresponsive to any input. only way to deal with it is by pulling the battery. held the power button for a full minute....nothing...

I left dbus-monitor and psutils top running for an hour, but it didn't catch any dbus traffic while blank-locked. What I see in top log is mostly mmcqd activity about each minute, with some dsme and mce activity.
Unfortunately, the problems seems to come and go with no evident reason.
Unless it is continuously dumping text to the log file, I'll proceed with the debug binary.
