Yes it is quite tempting. But Verizon is notorious for really locking down their devices. So, despite all the features of the Note 8, when I buy a product like this I feel like I'm put into a box and am limited in what I can do in regards to hacking and modifying software. It is more fun to own a less expensive device and have the freedom to modify it as you please.

The iphone belonged to my kid. I never used one.
On android phone I used to root, used xposed modules, modify apps and kernel to my liking and so forth. But I must admit I havn't done much in the past year. Been too busy.And my current phone Mate 9, is a steeper hill to climb given my free time. Having Note 8 would be like having a tv remote. Just use it for what it is designed for. At least I never tried to hack one of those! Anyways, looks like Note 8 does an excellent job as intended. I might get it. But I probably wouldn't try modifying much.

IPhone is the only solution until Jolla fully refund supporters

Note even have a head phone jack too. That might be a rare commodity in a year.

Btw. What's your take on Chens phone? It would be cool if that will be a reality. Maybe he can include a pen in next version. A slider and Pen would make it a one of a kind beast.

I hope Samsung take that step soon and reinvent the qwerty landscape slider.

I think it's time.

Chen has given us badly needed hope. I really want him to succeed! The thing about the Note 8 is that it has a lot a software that integrates many functions with the pen. It would take a long time to develop something like that to work on Chen's device. So not much chance that would happen. The stylus was nice on the N900 because it gave you pinpoint accuracy on, by most standards, a tiny screen. Maybe he could stick in a slot somewhere for a stylus but I don't think it could have a lot of functionality. I think there are some pens with software that have some additional capacity, but mostly for drawing.

Yeah, but even if it lacks most/all functionality it can still be used as a toothpicker. That must count for something. Or just nostalgic porpoises.
