i'm glad the n9 is maemo with meego hair extensions. there's no way meego would have been ready for the mobile phone market. they should have focused on 1 area with it, but left the branchs ready for the other area's, splitting resources down all the avenue's was stupid. i can't see a fully meego handset in the next 2 years thats able to compete with current market devices. it took maemo years to get the the n900 level and be honest, i isn't the best phone, but it still rocks as an everything device. the n9 i consider the proper phone of maemo. so i'd add the same time it took from pre n900 to n9 as how long it would take meego to get a decent handset.

and meego sounds like in idiot chewing a toffee and trying to talk. doesn't have the same appeal as "iphone" or "android" or "symbian" names important and they made it look like a kids show and sound like one. praise be to jebus for harmattan. and i would hope they stuck with it.

Any example of a something that could not have been ready for Meego? (I hope you are not comparing Meego CE with Harmattan..)

3 links to a possible release in Mexico... the Nokia N9 is still not released.

Good news for me though, I have great connections in Mexico. Blam!

Update: My "bro" in Mexico City got some e-mail about it because he used to have a N97 - against my wishes - and will find out tomorrow dates, prices. Looking like I might be a N9 owner... soon-ish.

The big factor for a lot of us will be the price...

I have heard prices ranging from approx $ 700 for the 16gb to $ 900 for the 64gb version.

Nokia pulling an HP here and outpricing the product out of the market?

I am still fretting the battery life. iphone 4 has the best battery life out there. the whole swipe thing is a variation of a theme, NOT revolutionary. so besides telling friends that you got something else than iphone. why should anyone bother?
