I filed a bug about diablo kernel not booting in n810. https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3174

Was that a good idea? I highly doubt they would release a firmware image that didn't boot on the N810, and they almost definitely aren't going to try and support an official Chinook-to-Diablo upgrade path like the ones certain people on these forums are unofficially exploiting.

I guess it is in beta testing.

To anyone, don't try and file a bug against too large initfs. It will be fixed in final. Meanwhile, pm me if you want a stripped diablo initfs to flash.

My impression was that the partition size needs to be bigger for the diablo initfs and kernel, so i assume that it will work fine with the official image, as they will make the partition bigger in the image.
I'm just guessing here....

I don't think that's an issue with Diablo's kernel, deadmalc, just Diablo's initfs. The kernel has a different issue, at least on the N810, where the partition is large enough to allow the Diablo kernel to be flashed, but trying to boot with that kernel does not work. The N800 can boot the kernel just fine, though.

That would be too easy

I was the 1st one to get it without any hints and now there are a lot of hints here.

qwerty and gnuite are in the ballpark re initfs. Again, you guys put together a sort of "Frankenstein" creation (props for the accomplishment though) that doesn't even reflect what I've been flashing with. There are a lot of variables in the unreleased packages that could mislead someone.

Again, mention your bugs in the Diablo bug thread under the Developers section, and little elves will see to it that the valid ones get reported.

Hehe, I spent a day figuring out how to strip it (Actually I sent my copy of the stripped initfs to gnuite)

I just ripped out the testserver which is not needed unless you work in Nokia and have a cable to switch it into that mode and need to test the parts of the device. Fanoush's initfs flasher takes out the testserver too.

I've already mentioned the initfs thing and you replied . I won't use Bugzilla because:
- It's an unreleased leak
- I can't figure out Bugzilla
