I have several compelling reasons to suggest it, but none of those would mean anything if you know nothing about Mentor Graphics. If you did knew a tiny bit about Mentor Graphics, then those reasons would make much more sense than going meego or webos.
I knew of them already, to some degree--especially personally from my days with the Atari TT being sold and rebranded to Apollo Systems as their UNIX SVR4 workstations, lest you forget I was born and raised in Massachsuetts... soooo waaaay back in their founding I'd seen them around as a local company--but I fail to see their value to a company like Samsung who already does perfectly fine without them and they're not an operating system company, despite Nucleus OS (they might as well go TRON then). :P

So, we come back around again to my question, all of your assumptions and insults aside again... why? I can understand how you might prefer not to answer the simple but poignant question of why you say the things you do, though... so, don't worry about it.

Dan, then you should know that Mentor Graphics does a lot on hardware design/verification front. They collaborate with Samsung for years and Mentor Graphics' products are at core of Samsung hardware design/production business. Without Mentor Graphics Samsung would probably not have enough yield in its silicon products.

Software parts around Nucleus OS/graphical libraries of Mentor Graphics are relatively small part of an overall value.

Can you point them in the direction of Nokia please because they sure as hell need to be put back on track to their former design days of Maemo .

Thanks for your excellent reply! I didn't know they collaborated together but it doesn't surprise me, since MG is providing a good Sigma 6 value to Samsung--sounds like agile development style for hardware--SOMEBODY had to, if Samsung wasn't doing it themselves. I don't see how buying them out is an advantage in the conversation about operating systems. :P

It's not me starting rumors
