To add virtual right-click in Xorg, edit the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf and change the last section (evdev touchscreen catchall) to add these options:

Code:
Option "EmulateThirdButton" "1"
Option "EmulateThirdButtonTimeout" "750"
Option "EmulateThirdButtonMoveThreshold" "100"
Now if you do a long-press on the screen it will emulate a right mouse button click!

Hi,

I read a little bit into this posting and now I wonder whether there is a easy arm/ chainroot version which works fine? and by the way is arm nativly running a replacement os or do you definitly not approve a every day use of arm instead of maemo? I switched to cssu thumb and like it a lot, but keeping my eyes open for new things to happen xD

Great work you guys! Thanks!

Yes, you can run Arch Linux (“ARM” stands here for an architecture and Arch Linux ARM is an Arch Linux flavor) in chroot as well as you can boot into it natively (through U-Boot).

Personally, it (Arch in chroot) has been useful to me to run up-to-date versions of software packages (SSH) without hassle or even those not found in Maemo (SWI Prolog).

As it runs natively thanks to Skry’s and others’ work, it is possible to build upon this fresh and bleeding-edge distribution and create anything – given that some people (looking in the mirror now) become active :-)

Reconstructing the Maemo system (its GUI) on top of Arch sounds sweet to me – but anything is possible, so you are welcome to join the effort starting with testing the thing out (visit #maemo-alternatives) :-)

Hi,

thanks for the quick reply. So where do I get a arch chainroot image from or at least a tutorial how to set it up. Easydebian is already on my n900. How do you make calls or send sms via uboot arch linux? Is there a terminal app or a gui app for this?

CU!

personally I use bodhi linux with e17 but sadly no progress in porting it was done from the founder of bodhi linux.

Try to read the first post on this thread. I think that everything you need is there.

read https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Enlightenment

basically: pacman -S enlightenment17
echo "exec enlightenment_start" >> ~/.xinitrc && startx

caveman,
which Xorg package did you use, xf86-video-fbdev or xf86-video-fbdev-sgx-git?
I am using xf86-video-fbdev-sgx-git and have install enligtenment, but enlightment failed to load. I think my problem is with Xorg, not with enlightenment.
That is why I asked for step by step, I want to know if there a step that I've missed/forgot
