Some album covers images taked from web sucks, and some of them are not the real ones.
What's the problem using the image stored in .mediaartlocal folder or search if there's a folder.jpg (or cover.jpg or something like that) for this?

Not sure if this feature request is on file already, but would it be possible to mimic the Media Player's shuffle ability at the Artist level?

For example, in Media Player you can select "Artist A" and if you have multiple albums by this artist, there is a button that will shuffle tracks from Artist A's albums only (not the entire library).

This would be a low priority (way below gapless playback ) but nice to have.

Better shuffle (and repeat) will be standard issue shortly. That said, I don't want to dash your hopes but gapless playback is at least a month away I'm guessing, unless there's another public outcry -- it's just not very high up on the todo list atm.

hey guys, can we have more public outcry over here please?

I probably shouldn't say this, but the fact that it's even being considered in "monthly" timeframe is still extremely encouraging considering the lack of alternatives. I don't believe we'll *ever* see it as part of a Nokia PR release, for example.

I need to send my n900 in for repairs anyway due to the dreaded USB port issue, so that will help temper my anticipation too.

Peter, please, when you have got a smaller CD cover art, either scale it with 2xSAI, or do not scale it at all. The current naive scaling algorithm makes a total mess of those smaller images, they come out all pixellated. More about 2xSAI:

Hint: In spite of what some sources may claim, 2xSAI can be used not just for x2 scaling, but for arbitrary scaling as well. You will see it once you write a generalized version of the algorithm (the one in the sample is somewhat messy).

Also, in my version I have two minor annoyances to point out:

a) Instinctive doesn't seem to take aspect ratio into account, stretching all cover art. This distorts the image when art is non-square, such as older tape cover scans, artist pics, etc.

b) I noticed that (at least in playlist addition) auto-capitalize is always on in spite of me turning it off (it breaks a few things I need). Probably few notice since all keep it on, but it should be consistent.

Oh, and, about that public outcry, count me out. Gapless is good, but I'd rather see others first.

Which reminds me, I wanted to say, tested Instinctiv rather extensively against the audio patch (new pulseaudio). Noting on radar thus far, they both work as advertised, no more skips, breaks, stutters, and I seems more inclined to tolerate loads than the default media player. Bigger buffer?
