I've never stopped using it, but...
Now that T-Mobile and the other U.S. based cell phone service providers ae dropping support for 3G I might have to stop using it.
I've been getting messages from T-Mobile for weeks that say my phone (as designated by the IMEI number) will no longer work on their network.

I'd rather not get a new phone. Anyone have a work around?

4G or 5G dongle hotspot with a battery. So far I think that is the only solution to get cellular data connection and calls through that.

Is that possible? I can connect to wifi produced by a 5G hotspot, but it doesn't get me a phone connection. I don't know about any app that'd works on the N900 that would receive calls to my phone number either.

I was thinking using Leste on N900. With that I think you will get calls with telegram and such. I'm hoping that now when 3G networks are dropped around someone will figure out a workaround soon.

I tried telegram desktop on Leste about a year ago. But I didn't first do any audio fixes so when it connected the call my friend just heard like a fax machine from my end. I believe someone from the Leste team could have tried it.

I ordered a "Nokia" 6300 4G (maybe I'll change my mind and get a Pine Phone...) so I can still use a cell service and I won't be carrying the N900 around with me every day, now.

I'll try to get Leste working on it in the fall...if...I can get the usb socket fixed so I can flash it from a laptop.

Well, it seems that I got some bad info. from the T-Mobile customer service agents. My N900's been working on their network since they shut down 3G. I keep selecting the T-Mobile 2G network and the N900 shows 2.5G in the status bar. I guess I'll keep using the N900 through the fall. I'll be returning the "Nokia" 6300 4G I bought.

And 2.5G is not slow that many people think. You can make fast search with frogfind.com and it try translates pages to be fast enough for 2.5G...actually some pages are faster than with 3G.
