Official request

Can someone look into improving the GUI and other things like storing game paths and keymapping?

It is quite sad to see this emulator neglected like this it.
Isn't this exactly what bonapart is doing with Playstation emu? Maybe someone could ask if he could also take a look to UAE4All also.

Yeah i would say so,

but didn't want to detract him from his playstation project it would slow that down and there are far too many people holding there breath on that one.

Update

I sent a PM to Javicq who ported the megadrive emulator and asked him politely if in the future could he take a look at adding a GUI to this emulator.

Watch this space.

Damn its too bad that this project died.. was looking forward to playing lots of superfrog

ill try and look at changing the keymapping somehow, since its the only damn thing holding this emu back from being playable. But i'm a coding newbie, i doubt i will get any results. :/

Yeah same here, well i'm not even a newbie i know nothing about coding at all.

Just a couple of little things need tweaking and this emulator would be much better to use.

1. Bigger or new GUI.
2. And easy keymapping

my favourites

kickoff 2 (the whole series)
sensible soccer
pga tour golf
fire and ice (classic platform game)
virus
superfrog
zool
indy 500
stuntcar racer

to be fair the list could go on and on the amiga was a great gaming platform of all types.

oh and don't forget the many public domain demo titles.

Can anyone help me Compile the source?

ive spent all day reading up on scratchbox and using it in the maemo sdk, using vmware.. what a headache, biggest problem is i cant get the dependencies installed in scratchbox, so i cant start compiling, mostly due to sudo command keeps returning "must be setuid root" when trying to do apt-get install.

Tried doing all this as target fremantle-arm.

Would someone be so kind and build the deb for me?

Anyways heres the source code, I have only changed the keymapping in it, to support GameGripper, i do not deserve any credit what so ever:

Source Code
(edit: link removed, no longer needed)

Maybe if someone could tell me what im doing wrong i would be very happy. I cant be that far off..

install vmware
load maemo sdk image
start scratchbox through terminal using command "scratchbox"
set target fremantle-arm
try to install missing dependencies needed to build app (but sudo dosent work)

Hmm looks like it compiled, however returned some error code "binary arch 127" and "make" said something about "maemo-optify: command not found"..

I can find the binary file, but it was not packaged as a deb for some reason.. Will keep looking into this.

Edit: I finally figured it out. I have packaged a deb of uae4all with GameGripper controles when joystick mode is enabled, it also supports Mouse buttons. I'll post it soon in here.

Uae4all compiled with GameGripper support:
I do not deserve any credit What So Ever!!
I'm not a Developer!! i just remapped keys. All credit goes to original authors. (see first post)

GameGripper is only supported in joystick/mouse mode when ingame!
I have not changed menu keys!

(Standard english keyboard)
(edit: link removed, check here for newest release)
(Scandinavian/German Keyboard, this should work if your Period/Dot/. key is next to the left arrow key on your localized keyboard)
(edit: link removed, check here for newest release)

Joystick Button 1 and 2 is mapped too "L" and "<-" (last one is period on scandinavien keyb)

Mouse button 1 and 2 is mapped too T and U.

Anyways, i tested scandinavien version. I got into superfrog, switched to joystick mode. Put on the GameGripper and completed the first level of superfrog Finally! i can play some real Amiga on this device.

Edit: Btw uae4all shows up as an update in application manager, only update if you wish to reverse the installation to the original version.

I would like some feedback if anyone experience any fps drop when its compared to the original version. I think i compiled it correctly, but you never know.

If you want the src to compile it for your self, just pm me, and ill help you out.

I just did a quick test on this during my dinner break haha. I tried superfrog and stunt car racer. Superfrog worked fine...apart from the fact you have to press up to jump lol however Stunt car racer wouldnt work. Please done take this as a bug on your part as like i say was a quick test and might be me at fault.

Would be great if we could control the menu and some of the short cuts via the gamegrippers extra buttons as i can already see it being a pain having to flip gripper on and off lol but thanks for the qudos of showing my mates superfrog on my phone haha oh how the all want it now haa
