Yes, but you need to update ubiboot.conf and CPIO also.

Bottom line: you cant install uniboot plus kernel(s) and then restore a backup from Backupmenu to avoid to start from zero installing everything again (changes, apps etc) except openmode!? Correct?

@juiceme
We do still need preinit* in /sbin, right (did not yet have time to check all)?
Then we/you still have that 'SIP under OpenMode' bug!

Well, to install ubiboot you do not need to backup/restore, really, since it resides on its own RAMFS totally.
-->> When you install it your current setup remains.
( well of course if you are in closed mode, you will go open, but who would be in closed mode nowdays any more )

Yes, Harmattan needs its own preinit, but the "SIP bug" only manifests when you use such preinit that sets up the IP address like the nitdroid preinit does.

-->> solution, use correct preinit file

(and yes, the preinit file in the preinits.tar is wrong but that's because I do not have the original preinit anywhere...)

Hej,
I do not mind. As I (really ) know the solution.
I just thought you better edit that file to prevent/save others from that glitch.

Which kernels do you mean? the extfat-supported?
I suppose I could put them under the /juice/ubiboot/ hierarchy as that is browseable. Now they are on the upper level where you have to know the name to download a file
