This problem occurs, when the wifi drivers are built in the kernel and not as amodule. Do you know if the wifi drivers are built as a module or in kernel?
You could also use SSH over USB.

Could you give the output of 'ls /var/lib/connman/'.
And check if the mac address stays the same during reboots?
Updating aliendalvik will be near to impossible i would say.
