I assume that everything is correct up to this point. I apologize if I put this output here before. I'll try to load modules and start mbxdaemon at boot time.

(^^ say hello to a OpenGL ES 1.1 capable N810 )

As you can see, there's still some work to do, but the results are promising... and full screen!.

Thanks again everybody who is making this possible.

Unless you really know what you're doing, don't. It's still at a relatively early stage of development. Read the last few pages of this thread for the current status.

And even if you could get it to work, on its own it won't make the OS go faster. It would allow application developers to make 3D accelerated apps and games, and maybe help make something like the Maemo 5 desktop work on N8x0, but only after a lot of additional work.

No new hardware should be needed. This is about getting working drivers (i.e. software) for the hardware already present in the N800 and N810.

Will it make my mom stop crying and cat stop begging to go outside?

Come on, folks.. it won't do anything by simply existing, it needs to be used by an application that is aware of it before it does anything you'll notice. Certainly the Hildon interface itself won't use it unless Hildon itself is updated to take advantage of it. Good luck with that hope, though. But then, Nokia tablets have left with me with the impression that they're all about potential but lingering and dashed hopes.

I'm sure it'll be GREAT for games and maybe a few other apps written for it, though.
