granting internet permission to the shell didn't work. but i'm learning how to tinker with android! fun!

Do you have to start wpa_supplicant service in init.rc?

nope android doent use udev (it does its own device management)

I would definitly work on WiFi first ! Seems less troublesome, and still gives you connectivity.

I got an Android Netbook (Acer Aspire One) without any SIM Card (doesn't even accept one) and most if not all the apps are actually working, I simply copy the .apk to the device and works fine, no need for GSM data or connection.

Might not be the case for 100% of the apps, but for atleast 90% seems to work fine, MSN/Facebook/Dolphin Browser and most of the OS including mail/regular browser.

yep wifi is right pain to get running though, i think il look at how its done on my old nitdroid and try that route

Seems to be that the Android 2.2 (Froyo) can run on any Android device..

as i said couple pages back it will b supported when froyos source is dropped
