That was Apple's angle in 2007. I really doubt if the market can be disrupted again by ux/os alone. The competition has gotten much stiffer too this time around.

I hope that's not it.

I really wouldn't get this attached to word like "disruptive" like so many of you seem to be when new product is being announced. It means nothing.
Rarely company can even tell if their product actually is disruptive before announced and it's more of a good luck if the guys over at marketing department happened to attach that word to the marketing talk if the product actually takes off.

My new water pump for family summer cottage was life changing according to the ad..... ok that actually was kind of life changing.

nearly 30h left and the tension rises! If the consumer n9 will be showed at NCS then this would be a big step for nokia in terms of security. i mean there were no real leakage about that device.

Perhaps every n9 will come with a coupon for a free service at the local redlight district/massage parlor/uhuh yeah.

That will certainly disrupt the developers community somewhat. (and redtube's bandwidth usage)

It will certainly 'combat' the stereotype of 'geeks are virgins that need to get laid'.

Nope don't have those problems and neither have really heard these all around. Battery life is level above GS, N900 and one of the best parts of the phone. Never had program closing on me compared to Android where i had apps crashing daily on GS.

Itunes is pure crap and exactly something that i don't like on the ios world. Iphone 4 for me at the moment is still a phone that works, but by no means something i wanna stay on, but i can easily see why the"norm consumers" are wanting the phone. I want community around the phone and more flexible OS.

- some special form factor? (mobile + tablet + desktop in one?)
- extreme compatibility? (android, symbian and wp7 vm preinstalled?)

It can't be just a meego handset on some souped up spec.
That's not disruptive enough to not be a joke.
Glad to see the word "disruptive" still peppering this tread since I last read it. Perhaps the thread's name should be changed to The EPIC disruptive tread" It certainly has had that effect on me! Unfortunately a good name for this disruptive device has yet to be suggested. Although I tried, it was correctly pointed out that my first attempt was somewhat juvenile. And, indeed I do resemble that remark. But I do think that it would be good to somehow have "disruptive" in the device's name. Perhaps it might be good to have a fruit as part of the name too as that is a popular thing to do and might help sales. Let me think...

How about "the apple disruptor" ... kind of like iphone killer... no, sj would not approve... too many law suits. Not good. Hmm, maybe "disrupting mango"... no, mango is already taken by WP7 phone. I know! I know! How about "The Disrupting Tomato" Kind of like interupting tomato, but, you know, more disruptive. Hmmm... well, I don't know. After further thought, I may have stumbled on a better name for nokia's WP7 phone. Well, at least I tried, but without success. Suggestions are welcome (about the name of the device!).
