No keyboard, and they won't make the N950 generally available. If I wanted a bar device, I'd have picked up an N770 - which I already have.

The keyboard is what made the N900 good, and they throw out this bar of epic fail. Oh, and before someone says "use a bt keyboard", how about one that doesn't match the N9's failure?

Guess my N900 is going to have to last until Nokia fixes this bug.

Oh man...I borrowed 2 phones last night, an N8 and an iPhone4, *just* to test out onscreen keyboards (again) and I hate them. I just can't do it, it's like I'm ******ed or something. My big fat thumbs don't help, but the fact that I'm not actually pressing buttons means I make loads of mistakes and keep having to hit the delete button. Compared with sending texts/emails/writing docs on my N900, the 2 different vkbs (for me) were useless.

So with the N9 not having a hw kb, I just have to sadly ook on, like an ex-runner watching an awesome race from the sideline on crutches.

I really wanted to think that the N9 would have some 'magic' on the vkb, but as far as I can tell (jakiman) it's just the same as an iPhone one.

Oh well. *sigh* Come along, N900. Let's write some emails. Quickly.

This is just speculation but after reading an article on the handheld blog it appears N9 might not be sold in the UK. Say this isn’t so nokia?

Check it out yourself on Nokia check availability page, UK is missing… this has to be an oversight!

i am still awaiting an answer to the following questions on nokia conversations:

http://conversations.nokia.com/2011/...es-is-a-swipe/

Dear Nokia,

I am very worried that "UK" is not listed in the drop-down menu of listed markets on the N9 product page.

I want an N9.
I am not interested in a Nokia WP7 handset, and I am absolutely not going to participate in an 'experiment' to see if i can be tempted into buying a WP7 handset by removing the option of a Meego handset.

Please reassure me that I will be able to buy an N9 in the UK, on contract, soon?
Please understand that I will be livid if UK availability of the N9 is 'rescheduled' so as not to interfere with the grand WP7 launch.

Best regards from a Maemo/Meego fan who also thinks that Nokia hardware is pretty good.

JBT

I don't know if these are just leftovers from Symbian, but the Harmattan SDK icon folder contains application icons for:

I'm running my N900 at 1.1GHz 24/7. It's not plenty I tell ya.
But if N900 had 1GB of RAM, it would have helped at least.

N9 seems to run quite well with current CPU.
But OMAP4/U8500 would have made it fly.

Well I'm signed up as a developer (because I am working on an app for meego/Qt), so hopefully I'll be able to get a N950!
