Either add a lot of horsepower or drastically decrease the price. Reason? MID. A decent GPS chip would not be bad... I know, I know, price....

Considering that the MIDs are way out of the price range of an internet tablet, I don't really see the issue.

Still, OMAP3 is a "lot of horsepower".

The N900 should come with:

A puppy.
And world peace.
Oh, and, a coupon for 10 million dollars.

Fast forward-- quotes from some members after the next tablet comes out:

Karel: "It almost isn't as bad as I knew it would be."

GeneralAntilles: "I can't wait to see what the newbs post."

fanoush: "so much... power... must... resist..."

zerojay: "%^$&#@! Canadian code still isn't working for the N810."

IcelandDreams: "Speaking of Canada, is it compatible with my tin-can-and-string network?"

krisse: "cha-CHING! Time to start charging for Internet Tablet School!"

rcadden: "Great! Something else I won't have time to review!"

qwerty12: "wow, just seeing the specs added inches to my manhood!"

Ya know, having seen the reports about the next OLPC/XO laptop being a dual screened job, it would be nice to see Nokia swing for the fences with something like that. Basically the same size as the N810 is now, but instead of the sliding keyboard, a folding one in the line of the Nokia E90.

Add an exterior display with buttons to control, or make it a swing and swivel set of screens so that one can view just one side at a time, or close it like a clamshell and that would be a neat alternative form factor.

Of course, such a design would need to have haptics. I would only expect those haptics to be smart though. For example, kick in when typing differently than when scrolling and not at all when just holding the device.

Throw in your requisited WiFi/BT/UWB/WiMax technologies, and maybe a dual battery setup and this is something that would be pretty neat, and defintiely paradigm changing.

Being that I've not really taken a look at the Maemo Linux/QTopic roadmap, I am not sure if this is something that can come soon, but it would be nice to see the N900 take a leap like that in terms of a hardware jump.

Looking at my ASUS EEE PC, I thought it could be really cool to have a big SSD (say 12Go) as the internal media instead of the so small 2Go.

did anyone mention a roll-up display (colour oled of course!) already? with a smaller 2.5" vga external display for monitoring it. that way we get a 6" hires display but it's still pocketable.
